Went out last night for a meal, but it seems so did many other people as everywhere we tried, there was no room at the Inn! Anyway as we were passing we popped into the Morley Arms and have to say as soon as we walked through the door you knew you were in a good old fashioned traditional pub - personally I really dislike themed pubs and those where they try and build in the personality, pubs like people have to evolve and grow their own personality over time! Well as we were out for some food on the specials board they had Steak & Kidney pudding, now I've had some really bad pies/puddings in pubs - you know the type, a bowl of thick stodge with some puff pastry put on top, that when you put the knife to it explodes all over the table like a split bag of crisps. Well nothing of the sort here my wifes chicken & ham pie looked superb as she reports tasted great as well and I have to say my steak & kidney pudding was a mouth watering delight. So no frills, just good grub, real ales, friendly atmosphere and great pies.
