So after over a month of use the x10 has turned into a firm favourite as my main walk-about camera and generally I no longer take out the DSLR. Generally I'm more than pleased with the results I get from this little camera & it is a pleasure to be able to just slip it over my shoulder and put a small 'amoured' SD card case (which holds 4 cards & 2 batteries) in my back pocket and I'm ready to go. Battery life has improved dramatically - a combination of the cells themselves reaching optimum performance and me not checking every single shot and switching the camera off between shot.
It hasn't replaced the DSLR completely, I don't find it at all satisfactory for 'studio' work - especially still life, but just about OK for a bit of portraiture.
I've created a gallery with results of some of the pictures from the first few weeks of using the Fujifilm X10. So far I don't think I've even scratched the surface of the functionality or capabilities of this compact camera. No it won't replace a DSLR, but it is a great pick-up and go camera. I'm going to look forward to trying some street photography with this and exploring it's low light capabilities in some of those National Trust properties we often visit.
