Well it has been quite awhile since I posted on here and it's a shame that the reason I've felt the need to update my blog is to have a rant about the totally pants Windows 8 phone I've been fighting with for a few months now. I decided it was time for a phone change when my trusty Samsung i600 started to go on the fritz recently. Now that was an early Windows phone & I had no issues with it at all so decided I keep to Windows & bought a Nokia Lumia 520 (not into costly phones) and really liked what it did until I decided it was time to retire my media player and us the 520 instead. So everything seemed fine for a few weeks then, when playing some tunes they started to get repeated, looking at the files there were duplicates of every track - of course they aren't really there as the storage capacity hadn't changed but the player didn't seem to know that! If you delete one of the files the other still shows as being there but you can't access it. Gone through every combination of formatting re-loading, both with the card mounted in the phone and in a card reader and the issue keeps returning - I've had up to 4 copies of some files at times. Going to the Windows mobile forum it would appear that this is a generic problem for all the Windows 8 Nokia phones and worst of all that Windows themselves seem to be happy to ignore the issue and not resolve it. So every now and then I format my card, unmount it and re-load with my music files and hope that one day windows will resolve the problem - does make me wonder about Windows 8 on PC's and if there is a similar issue there, but probably just the mobile version - anyone had the issue on their PC?
